No matter what you did, you did not deserve to be hit. Contrary to what you are telling yourself or what your spouse is saying about you, violence is not the answer, and neither is an affair. Violence does not settle anything or make it right and neither do affairs. What you did may not be right, yet violence will not balance the books, erase the wrong or even things out. What you did may be black as sin, but it does not justify an affair or violence.
Part of getting your marriage back on track involved getting your head on straight. Part of getting your head on straight includes getting rid of sick thinking that includes cheating and violence as a solution to problems.
