I decided on taking a different perspective today. There are many of you who are dealing with narcissists or narcissistic tendencies from a cheater and may not even be aware of it. In order to help you know, I have put together a list of signs that you are dealing with a narcissist.
1. They have a twitter account that they monitor frequently.
2. You hear frequent use of “I, me, mine” in their conversation.
3. They assume that because they feel something that you must be feeling it as well.
4. They expect you to have the same opinions, judgements and positions that they do.
5. They have difficulty viewing situations from other people’s perspective.
6. They place an emphasis on their own sensuality above others a majority of the time.
7. They view any disagreement you have with them as a ‘personal’ attack
8. When talking with them, they always manage shifting the focus of the conversation to them.
9. They can lie and feel comfortable about it since the what they told you is ‘true’ to them.
10. They act as if they are surrounded by an imaginary audience.
11. When they ask for you opinion, they are actually asking for you to agree with their opinion.
12. They assume that any conversation they overhear is about ‘them’.
13. Frequent preening and admiration of themselves in mirrors or shiny objects.
14. When they come home, they make an ‘entrance’.
These are just a few signs that you are dealing with a narcissist. I chose items that you are likely to encounter in your day to day living. Many of these you may have just considered ‘quirks’. If there are one or two of them, they may be. If your spouse has a majority of them, then you may want to consider learning more about narcissism.
